Carol Johnson Bowmer Nilson, born in Walla Walla, WA on December 8, 1926, passed away in Pullman on July 19, 2012, after a long illness. As a child she lived in many towns in Washington and Idaho, with her family settling in Worley during her high school years. She graduated from Worley High School. She married and had three daughters who she later raised as a single parent. By 1956 she had settled in Pullman. After her girls were raised she met Roger Nilson and they were married in 1974. In 1986, they moved to Colton, WA. She retired after working many years at WSU at the Bookie, in Housing and at the Library. Besides spending time at their lake cabin, her favorite town to visit was Leavenworth, her favorite place to visit was Ocean Shores, OR. She loved to paint, to do needlepoint and cross stitch. She loved to laugh. She is survived by her husband, Roger; her daughters, Nancy (Gordy) Lamb, Sherry (Richard) Krogh, and Penny (Steve) Floyd; stepchildren Mike, Chris (Ramona), Brad (Pam) Nilson and Ann Marie Hanson; Grandchildren Aaron Lamb, Sara (Cary) Gray, Abbey (Brady) Shelton, Jared (Kellie) Krogh, Shannah (Steve) Mullinax, Kobie Krogh and Steven Floyd, Nichelle, Gabby, & Taylor Nilson, Elizabeth Hanson, Ameta and Brandon Nilson. Great-grandchildren Kinzie Mullinax, Nolan Shelton, and Jackson Krogh; Jaedyn Nilson; and her sister Joyce Wilcox and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Beryl and Maxine Johnson and her grandson Cory Lamb. It has been a difficult 8 months and the family would like to thank the Whitman County Home Care and Hospice, the Staff at Bishop Place, the Staff at Avalon Care Center and the Staff at Pullman Regional Hospital. The family suggests that donations be made to your local Hospice. There will be a graveside service followed by a celebration luncheon Tuesday, July 24th starting at 11:00 AM at the IOOF Cemetery, Located at intersection of SW Cedar St and W Main St in Pullman.
